Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support in Hong Kong
Experiencing pregnancy or infant loss can feel overwhelming and isolating. Many families in Hong Kong are unsure where to find support, especially in the early days and weeks after loss. Cultural silence, limited follow-up after hospital care, and unclear pathways can make the experience even more isolating.
This page offers general information and resources and is not a substitute for professional mental health advice. If you are struggling or in crisis, please contact your local emergency services.

General Support Pathways
Support in Hong Kong can sometimes be limited or fragmented. Families may access:
Hospital-based and private care: Obstetric teams and midwives may provide short-term emotional support and referrals, though ongoing support pathways are often unclear.
Private counselling: Therapists experienced in grief or perinatal support can offer ongoing emotional support.
Community networks: Parenting or women’s wellbeing groups may provide informal connection, but focused pregnancy or infant loss support is rare locally.
Families often find international organisations helpful, especially for English-speaking or online support:
Sands – information, online support groups, helplines
Tommy's – guidance on miscarriage and stillbirth
Miscarriage Association – peer support and evidence-based resources
Postpartum Support International - peer and perinatal mental health support
