Feel less alone in loss

Willow’s doula support provides a steady, compassionate presence for families navigating the profound experience of miscarriage or stillbirth. Whether you are facing an unexpected loss or a difficult diagnosis, we offer continuous emotional and practical care to ensure you are not alone. Our role is to hold a quiet, sacred space for you to honor your baby and your journey, exactly as it unfolds.

  • This specialized care is for:

    • Those experiencing miscarriage at any stage: Every loss deserves to be honored and supported.

    • Families facing stillbirth: Providing a protective layer of advocacy during the birth of your baby and the days that follow.

    • Those miscarrying at home: Offering quiet, grounded guidance and physical comfort measures for those navigating a loss in their own space.

    • Parents navigating pregnancy after loss: Support for the unique anxiety and emotions that arise in a subsequent pregnancy.

    • Partners and loved ones: Because the weight of loss is shared, we provide grounding and reassurance for the entire family.

Note: To ensure deep, focused care, our doula capacity is intentionally limited.

  • Support is shaped entirely around your needs. Whether you’re experiencing a loss yourself or supporting a loved one, Willow provides care that honors your physical, emotional, and practical needs. Every family’s experience is unique, and our guidance is designed to meet you where you are.

    Your doula support may include:

    • On-call readiness: 24/7 availability when loss begins or becomes imminent

    • Continuous presence: Unlimited support during the miscarriage or labor, at home or in-hospital

    • Clear explanations: Gentle guidance on what is happening physically and emotionally

    • Care for the whole family: Support and reassurance for partners and loved ones

    • Practical assistance: Sensitive help with collecting pregnancy remains for medical testing or private arrangements

    • Medical navigation: Guidance for communicating with providers to ensure your questions are answered and your baby is treated with dignity

    • Aftercare: Post-loss visits for emotional processing, physical recovery guidance, and memory-making

    A Note on Our Care

This is not medical care. Doula support is informed, compassionate companionship and physical presence during a deeply vulnerable time. We are here to walk beside you, not to direct your path.

  • You can expect a witness who is not shaken by your experience. Specifically:

    • A warm, steady presence that holds the calm when things feel uncertain or overwhelming.

    • Clear and honest communication about the physical process, without clinical coldness.

    • Support for your loved ones: Someone to watch over your partner or family, ensuring they are cared for while they care for you.

    • Trauma-informed care that honors your privacy, your history, and your own pace.

    • Someone beside you to handle the "logistics" so you can simply be in your experience.

  • Location

    • In-person support: Available throughout Hong Kong.

    • Virtual support: Available if in-person care isn’t feasible or for families outside Hong Kong.

Meet Your Doula

Brittney Tsang, MS

I’m Brittney, a full-spectrum doula specializing in pregnancy loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, and pregnancy after loss. After experiencing my own loss in 2019 and supporting families as a birth and postpartum doula, I realized that parents who experience loss deserve the same compassionate care, guidance, and advocacy. I walk alongside families during these deeply emotional moments, providing a safe space to grieve, heal, and find hope for the future.

Full-Spectrum Doula (Pregnancy Loss Specialist)

Common Questions

  • A loss doula provides emotional, informational, and practical support to families experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth, or pregnancy after loss. While medical providers focus on your physical care, a doula focuses on supporting you and your partner through the emotional and practical aspects of the experience. This can include helping you understand your options, preparing for what to expect, offering continuous support, and creating space for your experience to be honored in a way that feels right for you.

  • You can reach out at any point. Some families contact us as soon as they learn their pregnancy may not be viable, while others reach out after receiving a diagnosis or when preparing for a hospital induction or procedure. Support can also continue after the loss, during recovery, or in a subsequent pregnancy after loss.

  • Support can include:

    • Emotional support for you and your partner
    • Helping you understand your options and what to expect
    • Preparing for hospital or home birth after loss
    • Continuous support during labor or delivery when possible
    • Guidance around memory-making and honoring your baby
    • Support in the days and weeks following the loss
    • Gentle support during pregnancy after loss

Every family’s needs are different, so support is tailored to what feels most helpful for you.

  • Yes. Pregnancy loss affects partners and families too. Doula support includes making space for partners’ experiences, helping them understand how to support one another, and ensuring both of you feel supported during an incredibly difficult time.

  • No. A doula does not provide medical care, diagnoses, or clinical advice. Your doctors, nurses, and midwives remain responsible for all medical care. A doula works alongside your medical team to provide emotional support, information, and continuity of care.

  • When possible, doulas can provide in-person support at private hospitals. Availability may depend on timing, location, and hospital and doctor policies. If in-person support isn’t possible, we can often provide virtual support before and during your hospital experience.

  • Doula support can be especially helpful during an early miscarriage. Many families experience this part of the loss at home, and it can feel physically and emotionally overwhelming.

We can offer calm, compassionate support as you move through this process. This may include helping you understand what to expect, providing reassurance, and being present with you during the experience if that feels helpful. This looks like emotional support, guidance around comfort measures, and physical support at home.

Support can also continue in the days and weeks afterward, when many families find the emotional impact of loss begins to surface.

  • Pregnancy after loss can bring complex emotions including hope, fear, uncertainty, and grief that resurfaces unexpectedly. Doula support during a subsequent pregnancy can provide a steady presence, emotional support, and space to talk through those feelings as you navigate this new chapter.

  • "I'm really thankful for you being there. Honestly, you helped me so much through this process. The best decision I made was you."

    — Former Doula Client

  • "I wanted to say how much it has meant to me to have you on this journey the past weeks. Your support means so much to me."
